Robots

In the early 1950’s, Decap of Antwerp, Belgium built seven sets of these marvellous Robots. They each have different facial expressions and play saxophone, percussion and accordion with an early electric organ for depth.
Their automation consists of at least 20 movements, including eyes, fingers for the accordions, feet and hands for the drummer and heads going from side to side. The saxophonist stands up when it is his turn to do a solo. This is accompanied by a synchronised light pattern.
The instrument is a hit wherever shown.
